Area Nightclub teens to turn spotlight on adults

On Tue 25th March 2008, Area Nightclub in Watford will be opening its doors to 800 teenagers in order to encourage adults to create an optimistic, plentiful world in place of the worsening global problems they will otherwise leave behind. In order to support the cause, Area & Baraka Manager, Matt Gamon, is providing the venue free of charge.

Two local 15-year old girls, Jasmine and Sophie, who lead a group called "FREdome YEA" (Youth Encouraging Adults), have used internet social networking to attract nearly 2500 teenagers to their MySpace page, which they call "WeCare". 800 of them will be descending on Area nightclub on Mar 25 for a party to raise both funds and awareness. Sophie said, "We really appreciate Matt giving us the Club, and hope it'll be a great success, so when people leave, they'll know what it's all about." Jasmine added, "We hope that after the Club night, everyone will do at least one thing - that's what we want. Get your family to sign our on-line petition:

www.ipetitions.com/petition/savesave - then something might actually happen."

The night will be a mixture of club disco, live music and short messages about the cause. Headlining the live music will be The Mars Patrol - managed by Dave Prowse (Darth Vader in Star Wars) and "Tipped for the top" by the News Of The World (UK). Hailed as Edinburgh's top indie band, they have just moved to London to be right at the centre of things and head for the top. They are releasing a new song called "Take a Look at the World", a worthy anthem to this global cause, with which they are partnering. Also playing will be Watford's None The Less, voted in the UK Top 5 unsigned bands, and up-and-coming The Next Act. Band amplification is being volunteered by Ian Kersen of Red Lemon. Local financial sponsors include Chalfont Art & Framing, the Junction Chapter of BNI (Business Networking International) and Total UK.

So, what's all the noise about? Well, a person millennium of research (thirty eminent individuals working for over thirty years) says that there's a single potential solution to the energy crisis, climate change, starvation and disease. This involves extremely rapid growth of slimy green algae in nutrient-rich seawater, to create lots of organic material to reclaim 75% of the world's arid land. This can reverse the world's carbon footprint and produce a virtually unlimited supply of biofuels, immunising foods, fresh water, and just about everything else that humanity needs.

But adults are a bit slow on the uptake. They say things like, "It's too good to be true!" whereas youngsters say, "It's too good to ignore!" Adults ask, "If it's so good, then why has no one done it before?", while youngsters say, "It's about time someone did!"

Maybe it's about time for Adults with Attitude?
